AirPods are Apple’s most popular accessories. They were first introduced in 2016 with the release of the iPhone 7. These wireless Bluetooth devices were basically designed for quick access to audio content (i.e, making calls, listening to music or podcasts, getting directions, etc. ), but now with the advent of AI, they can serve the role of your personal assistant and even create surrounding 360-degree sound effects. Today at the Phone Counters, we are going to tell you Do AirPods Work on Androids? Or not?
Do AirPods Work on Androids?
We all know that AirPods are made compatible with Apple devices, but there is a question often asked: Do AirPods work on Androids? Well, though the answer would be technically a yes, but not completely. When you pair AirPods with Apple devices that are compatible with them, you can experience the full features of your AirPods. The spatial audio, Google Assistant audio access, double tap options, and customized settings. But with Androids, you won’t be able to access many of the features. These might include
- The AirPod double-tap shortcut that allows wearers to skip, pause, or start audio does not work when paired with non-Apple devices.
- The AirPod battery life status indicator might not be available when paired with non-Android phones.
- AirPods don’t support Google Assistant, so Siri won’t be available to access.
- AirPods are made compatible with Apple iOS, so for an Android user, the audio might be slightly worse.
- When AirPods are paired with Androids, automatic ear detection won’t be available.
